St Cynfach’s Church, Hope, Flintshire

St Cynfach’s church is grade I listed of a twin-aisled interior with continuous nave and chancel.

Unfortunately, the fine settings of the church were not matched by the performance of the sound system and in 2016 the Parochial church council engaged Richard King Systems to provide a scheme for improving the audio facilities. Following consultation and demonstrations an improvement plan was agreed with RKS providing appropriate specialist technical information for the faculty application to the St Asaph Diocese.

During 2016 to 2018 staged works were carried out:

  • Replacement of the audio loop system to the IEC/EN 60118-4 standard
  • Upgraded microphones for significant improved pickup sensitivity and fidelity
  • Replacement control equipment for ease of operation and high-quality audio signal
  • Replacement main loudspeakers in both aisles for high quality and even sound coverage
  • Replacement control equipment cabinet to blend with the church interior

Reaction from the congregation has been very positive with Allan Poynton of the PCC advising "the new speakers are a dream. Such clarity."
