Overton Village Hall, Wrexham

The village hall is situated in the picturesque village of Overton-on-Dee, 7 miles south of Wrexham on the Shropshire border ideally positioned for use by many rural villages in and around the Marches and North East Wales.

The hall is the home of Overton Amateur Dramatics Society, established over 50 years ago and comprising a group of locals who enjoy performing and the dramatic arts. The society welcome anyone interested in any aspect of theatre, whether it be performing, lighting and sound, backstage crew, front of house or administration.

Richard King Systems has provided specialist services to the hall and the amateur dramatics society for over twenty five years including:

  • Major stage lighting system installation and servicing
  • Comprehensive sound system installation and servicing
  • Audio loop system installation and testing

In 2019 Richard King Systems were requested to submit scheme design suggestions to improve and modernise the stage lighting system. This major project involved the complete replacement of all the dimmers, control desk and all lanterns. The benefits of the new system include:

  • Vastly reduced electric consumption and maintenance through the utilisation of state of art LED lanterns which also provide amazingly colour changing options
  • Comprehensive control through the latest technology control desk to harness the potential of the new lantern system

Included in the package was bespoke training to support user confidence.

Jim Glover Overton Amateur Dramatics Society commented: "Richard King Systems can produce turnkey systems that even the most technophobe operator can understand and their training and back up is superb."
